ICHR (Colour Registry)
NEW! Now you can colour register your IMHR registered horses and ponies too!
TIPS ON CHOOSING A CATEGORY:
ICHR classes horses and ponies based on their phenotype (the way they look) as opposed to their genotype (genetic make up).
- If a horse/pony has pink skinned white hair on the body (not including white markings on head or legs) which is larger than a sheet of A4 paper, ICHR classes it as a pinto (excludes Perlino/Cremello).
- If a horse/pony has spots or other visible appaloosa markings such as striped feet, mottled skin. roaning, frosting etc, ICHR classes it as palouse.
- If a horse/pony has both of the above, ICHR classes it as a pintaloosa.
A horse/pony can only be registered as ONE of the above patterns.
If a horse/pony is eligible for any of the above classifications, it cannot be registered as any of the following:
- Buckskin
- Palomino
- Silver
- Cremello
- Perlino
- Dun
